Life-Enhancing Activities for our Residents
We need the companionship of others. To laugh, tell stories and work together as teams are all necessary parts of any person's life. Here, you will feel at home by doing what you so desire, with a group of fun people who want to learn new things too!
At Avamere Georgian House of Lakewood, we know it's all about offering up a wide range of activities for the elderly and those with behavioral health issues, and providing them bountiful opportunities to engage with one another and their families. You're never too old to learn something new.
For example, our Lakewood facility offers our residents:- The ability to demonstrate creativity through drawing, needlepoint, creating scrapbooks, wood carving, or many other handicrafts;
- A chance to keep faith with your spiritual desires with a selection of special religious programs, meditation and prayer (Note: we believe one's religious beliefs are of personal concern and all beliefs are respected by our staff);
- Opportunities to keep your mind active with trivia sessions, word games and other fun activities such as bingo;
- Enjoyable entertainment acts from the broader community or relaxing matinee movies with freshly popped popcorn;
- The chance to teach a new skill to others (e.g., teaching a young child or teen to knit or crochet);
These activities, plus many more, allow our residents to socialize with their families, make new friends, celebrate the seasons, and most importantly enjoy life in a community!
